in His grace is officially open!

After many years of making and selling a variety of art-
including mosaics, paintings, quilted items, home decor, photography, and collages,
I was told by "those" in the business that I needed to specialize in just one area
to ever REALLY succeed.
I had started to believe them
until I had a revelation one day recently.
As long as I was honoring
the word of God, I was already successful.
God would not give me
a love and talent for many
different types of art
if he did not intend for me to use them.

So, "in His grace" has been born.
All items are hand-made by me,
and reflect the beauty of Christ's love.

 25% of all proceeds
will go directly to CBC Seminole,
a local foster and adoption agency.

There are prints, pillows, original paintings, bible bags, mosaic birds, and books sitting pretty and ready to go.
I have a lot more birds and pillows in the works, so I'll be updating pretty regularly.

Happy February Friends!

Chrissie

Around the House this Weekend

I'm probably the last person with an iphone to learn about the hipstomatic app.
If you have an iphone, pay the 99 cents for it.
It makes me look at everything in a whole new light!

Have a lovely Monday friends!

Chrissie

Silly Fun

Ava's been on a googly-eye kick.  She has a pile of them in her craft stash and uses them frequently.  We got a good kick out them yesterday :)

It was a good day for some silly fun :)
Have a wonderful weekend.

One Week from Today...

One week from today I will be re-opening my etsy shop.  After almost 200 sales, I am changing a lot.
I have a new theme.
I have a new mission.
I have a new name.
I feel good about what I'm making and selling.

I'm praying that it goes over well and it's successful.
If any of you have etsy shops, you know how intimidating it can be to open up your heart and art. The fear of rejection is there, of course. But I do feel like I'm obeying God, so I'm excited to see what happens.

After recooping costs for materials and fees, 25 % of the profits will go directly to CBC Seminole, a local foster and adoption agency here in Central Florida. The remaining monies will go to finish off our Dave Ramsey debt plan.

(back of the bag)

I've been working all week on this bag.  I originally designed it to be a bible study bag.  It's the perfect size for a bible and notebook or two.  But it could be used for any kind of bag, really.  I look forward to making more of these.

I can't wait to show you more!

I heart Rainbows

I had a really nice weekend.
We had a soccer game and a race and both of the boys felt good about their performance afterwards.
We ate dinner at IHOP and ate way too  much.
Church was awesome today.
I even had time to make two things.
Can you tell that I am really into rainbows right now?
First I made (or really finished up) this pillow.  It's pretty big...18 x 18
I had fun with the quilting...some loopy quilting
and "writing" with my free-motion foot.
I have approximately 1,394,567 more ideas for pillows floating around in my head right now.
I also made this painting.  I had prepped the board last week, but finally got around to painting it.
Again, with the rainbow theme.
It just simply makes me happy.
I slightly distressed the background.  Did you know that gray is the new black?  I actually made that up. haha
But gray is super popular right now.
Oh yes, I made him too.  About 6 1/2 years ago.  He wanted to be in one of the pictures.

The last thing I made was this recipe.  It was delicious.  My kids thought it was very strange that I served sandwiches with sugar and jelly.  It was delicious!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend too.  I'm acutally looking forward to my Monday...I've started a new bible study.  It's another Beth Moore.  I'll probably tell you more about it later.

Chrissie

Baby Mine

The kids found this picture of Ashton holding Jackson the day he got home from the hospital last week.

I have it as my desktop photo on my computer now, so I can see it all day.  It reminds me of how fleeting it all is...how quickly they grow and how beautiful the moments are.  In the hustle and bustle of the day I need that reminder sometimes...when we are in the middle of homework and getting dinner and signing forms and looking for baseball gear...when it is loud and crazy and I have to say "I am only ONE momma"...I can look at this picture and take a deep breath, and remember these are the days I will one day miss.

New to Her

Lil'Sis has been wanting some rollerblades, so when I saw a pair at Goodwill for $2 I picked them up for her.
She was super excited!  I taught her to "walk" in them...
she picked it up pretty quickly!

Until she fell...
But like most tenacious four year olds, she got right back up.
We were kind of jealous of the snow all the other 49 states were getting...
but then we realized it is pretty cool that we can rollerblade outside in the middle of January!
